Melissa and Dave were married April 26 with a ceremony and reception at The Somerley at Fox Hollow in Woodbury, NY. They just celebrated their one year anniversary and are just as much in love as they were on their wedding day!
Melissa told us how she and Dave met and how Dave proposed:
"Dave and I actually met back in high school, 10th grade to be exact. We were really good friends through high school and lost contact once college started. One night, we just so happened to both be at the same place at the same time, and the rest is history.
Two years later, we got engaged. Dave planned this whole weekend getaway to Massachusetts. Once we got there, he had told me that he had to do some work, something he is always doing everywhere we go. So of course I started my usual banter about how he works too much, and then he said he needed my advice about something. So I began to read the document, and that is when he asked me to marry him. I was completely shocked, I kept rereading the lines to see if it was actually happening."
On the wedding day, Franco started with Melissa and her girls, and Neo was with Dave and his guys. This entire bridal party was a riot! They made the pictures—and the whole day—a ton of fun! At the reception, Body Rock Entertainment kept the music flowing, and the entire wedding was up on their feet all night long. Our kind of crowd!
We asked Dave about Melissa, and we love what he told us:
"Although it’s absolutely undeniable how stunning she is, I’d love to say it was just her beautiful, bright, blue eyes that hooked me (although it was definitely a major bonus). But whenever I think about Melissa, I realize that it could only have been sheer luck that would allow for me to get to someday call her my wife. She can light up a room with her smile and brighten anyone’s day with her laugh. She’s a goofball and knows it. She doesn’t try to impress me—nor is she ever impressed by me (despite my best efforts). She keeps me grounded. She’s my happy place. When I’m having a bad day at work, when I’m stressed out about this issue or that one, I can always go to her, and she can always make everything alright. She’s my center, my rock, my anchor on stormy seas. "
Melissa and Dave made this day for us. It is easy to photograph a couple when they are truly in love like these two! Our favorite shot was when Melissa and Dave were outside leaning against the stone wall. It was totally natural and in the moment. We were just getting ready to give them a pose, and as we were testing our lighting, David gave Melissa a soft kiss on her shoulder. Boom! Perfect shot. We are always on the lookout for moments just like this.
A heartfelt thank you to Melissa & David for sharing their stories of love with us. We had so much fun with you, and were so honored to capture your day!
